Week of April 10-14 Bioglyphs. Students will create a bioglyph about themselves given certain symbols. We will then display each Bioglyph and students will interpret which bioglyph belongs to which student based the symbols they see on the picture.
Week of April 3-7 Begin Data Collecting Unit. Create and interpret graphs.
Week of March 27-31 Simple Machines Unit Partner Project. The aliens have taken away all simple machines!!!! Students with a partner will investigate the different simple machines and how they benefit man kind. They will create a presentation to present on which simple machine they believe should be saved from the aliens.
Week of March 6-10 Monday- Simple Machines reading comprehension with a partner. Tuesday- Brainpop: Levers Pass around display of Lever and identify real world items that are made from Levers. Wednesday- Brainpop: Wheel and Axel. Identify real world items that are made with wheel and axels. Thursday- Brainpop: Pulley. Pass around display of Pulley. Discuss and identify real world items that use pulleys to make work easier.
Week of February 27-March 3 Begin Forces & Motions unit. Monday- Read about the every day forces Friction, Magnetism, and Gravity. Tuesday- Cut and paste vocabulary in Science journals. Forces and Motion Crossword puzzle Wednesday- Forces Reading comprehension with partner. Write the question and answer. Thursday- Simple machines reading comprehension with a partner. Write the question and answer.

Week of September 12-16 Monday- Plant & Animal Cell Reading passage. We will read a passage about the plant and animal cell as a class. Students will answer reading comprehension questions about the passage. Tuesday- Students will create a Venn Diagram to show the similarities and differences of plant and animal cells. Wednesday- Edible Cell Activity. Students will create a plant and animal cell using real world objects and be able to verbally identify the different organells. Thursday- Plant and animal cell quiz. Students will be able to identify the parts of the cell, and know the definitions of each organelle. Friday- No School. Tuesday- Brainpop: Scientific Method This is how we use Brianpop in Science. Students are given a worksheet with 10 multiple choice answers. We watch the 3-5 minute video the 1st time with out pausing. The 2nd time we watch the video I pause it after key answers are given and I will tell the class. "look at number _". Then we watch the video a 3rd time with out stopping for students to answer any questions they didn't catch during the 1st 2 views. Wednesday- Safety First reading passage. Students will read the passage as a class and then answer the reading comprehensions questions. Thursday- Review Science Safety rules and Scientific Method. Friday- Safety and Scientific Method quiz.
